The Union County Engineer is currently accepting applications for Seasonal Maintenance Worker positions. These are temporary appointments not to exceed 1,000 hours, beginning in May & ending approximately in November.

Qualifications also include completion of secondary education (high school) plus a minimum of one year experience operating mowing or farm equipment. Experience with mowing preferred. Attention to safety and detail in the performance of duties is a must. Must be a team player but capable of working independently on most tasks.
 
This is an unclassified, hourly, temporary position. Selected candidates must be capable of passing a comprehensive background investigation, including a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
 
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to work the full-time hours, as noted, however hours may be adjusted due to various factors.Duties include operating various construction and maintenance vehicles, performing manual labor related to maintenance, construction, and repair of county roads, ditches, culverts, bridges, guardrails; performing routine preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities. Assisting with special projects and other related tasks as assigned. Must be comfortable working outdoors.
